Rules For Occupation
Charges/Regulations For Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
The Cantonment Board Varanasi has a Guest House which consists of one VIP suite with a drawing and bedroom and air conditioners in the form of a separate cottage and another block in which there are two exclusive suites and 4 single room accommodations with attached toilets. Among these, two single rooms are non A. C.
The following categories of persons will be entitled/eligible for allotment of accommodation in the Guest House in order of preference as below:
1. Officers of Indian Defence Estates Service, Army Officers, Officer’s of Ministry of Defence.
2. Retired IDES officers, Central Govt, State Government officers on duty.
Chief Executive Officer, Varanasi will be the allotting authority for all categories.
Allotment cannot be claimed as a matter of right
The guest house is primarily made for the stay of Officers of IDES/ Military and other offices of Ministry of Defence.
The rooms may also be allotted to the touring Officers of other Central Government Departments, State Government, Semi Government bodies after meeting the requirements of the Cantonment Board.
From all those it is expected that application on prescribed format for allotment of rooms addressed to Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board Varanasi is required .
Forms are available in office/guest house. The outsiders can "Download Forms" and after filling it can be sent by FAX on 0542-2509014. The booking can be confirmed on telephone No. 0542-2503215 or 0542-2509014. For the guests covered under Sl.No. 4 the booking is confirmed only after the deposit of security.
Touring Officers of IDES/Military/Ministry of Defence will get preference over all other visitors.
No allotment will be made for more than 7 days at a stretch during non-official visits.
Complete Guest House cannot be booked to any officer of the Department or other Government officials.
The allotment of accommodation shall be for the purpose of stay only and under no circumstances, the Guest House or its premises shall be allowed for any other purpose such as holding of marriages or any kind of function or get together etc.
Officers shall enter in their own handwriting their names, designation, the time and date of arrival, date of departure in the Visitors Book kept in the reception room. Officers are required to sign this Book on arrival and departure.
The charges will be for minimum of a day even if the facility is used for few hours.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages within the premises is strictly prohibited.
Only authorized persons who have been allotted the accommodation can stay in the Guest house.
Allottee should take care of his belongings and Cantonment Board Authorities will not be responsible for any theft etc. in the manner whatsoever.
Booking of accommodation has to be made at least two days in advance and for this purpose, the office of the Cantonment Board should be approached on a working day.
An inventory of the furniture and fittings is available in each room and any damage to furniture, fixtures or fittings occasioned by the resident or his servant shall be charged separately
Occupants are requested to use electricity as economically as possible so as not to leave lights on when they leave their rooms and not to use electric heaters or other electrical appliances from the electric points in the rooms
Generator facilities for occupancy of guest covered under Sl.No. 3 to 5 are also available @ Rs. 80/- per hour on the cost basis of diesel consumption or there will be an option to cater for their own diesel.
No tent/shamiana or similar structures shall be erected by the occupants in the premises of the guest house. The guest house is strictly for the purpose of staying only and all the conditions necessary to maintain peaceful atmosphere should be adhered to.
No music shall be played in the premises disturbing the other inmates of the Guest house.
In case of booking of two or three rooms for persons other than the officers on duty, a refundable security deposit of Rs. 2500/- and for booking more than three rooms, a refundable security deposit of Rs. 10,000/- has to be paid. Any damages are liable to be adjusted against the security deposit.
Kitchen shall be utilized during mass occupancy without crockery by payment of Rs. 250/- per day as rental charges.
In case of double occupancy by officers on duty, rent shall be shared on 50:50 basis. Under no circumstances, a room shall be occupied by more than two adults.
Application for allotment in case of booking of more than one room shall be at least 30 days in advance.
The Board reserves the right to cancel the booking in case of any official visits of the officers of the department.
Rent of accommodations will be deposited in advance in Cantonment Board Treasury.
Any violation of the above rules shall be punishable with fine besides forfeiture of security deposit.
In case of any dispute, the decision of the Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board Varanasi shall be final.
Charges/Regulations For Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Breakfast rate will be Rs. 20/- and fixed menu as displayed in the Guest house will only be available out of which the choice can be given.
The rate of tea and coffee shall be Rs. 3/- and Rs. 5/- respectively.
The rate for lunch shall be Rs. 40/- and dinner shall be Rs. 55/- which shall consist of normal items and details are displayed at the Guest house notice board.
The snacks as displayed on the notice board can be ordered and shall be charged as per the fixed rates.
The CEO is authorized to make changes from time to time as per the exigencies of the situation which shall have to be adhered to by the occupants.
Any other items as desired by the occupants can be got prepared by paying the charges as fixed from time to time.
The timings for the breakfast, lunch and dinner are to be strictly followed by the occupants.
