Medical and Public Health
Cantonment Board Varanasi maintains a 22 bedded Cantonment General Hospital which consists of separate male and female wards along with labour room and operation theatre. It has two permanent doctors and five specialist visiting doctors . X-ray room and lab facilities have been provided. To provide the facilities to the public arrangements for generator, water cooler, Geyser, computerized E. C. G.. machine services are available. A family welfare center is run by the State Govt. Education
The Cantonment Board is maintaining three schools. One Junior High School, One Boys Primary School and One Girls Primary School. The sanctioned strength of teachers are 18. School also provides computer education and mid-day meal.
Response from parents is encouraging and Performance of the Schools is satisfactory.
Total strength of the students of three schools is 973.
Sanitation
The following facilities exists :-
1. Two Sulabh Sauchalayas run by Sulabh International on B.O.T.
2. One Sulabh Sauchalayas run by Sulabh International pay & use basis.
3. Two public toilets run by Advanced Sanitation, Paharia, Varanasi.
4. One public toilets run by Advanced Sanitation, Paharia, Varanasi on pay &
use basis.
The general condition of the plants and machinery in use and in stock are satisfactory. The details are as under :-

Monthly sanitary inspection is carried out by the SEMO/ AHO and a sanitary report placed before the Board and action is being taken accordingly.
Water Supply
The Cantt. Board is maintaining independent water supply with three deep tube wells .Construction of 1800kl overhead water storage tank is in progress. All the tube wells have been fitted with chloronome plant for chlorinated water supply to civil population. Per capita consumption of water is 150 lit. per day.
Street Lighting
There are 249 street light points in Varanasi Cantt. out of which 223 are sodium vapour lamps, 06 are tube lights. Apart from above 20 nos. metal halide (improved lighting) have been installed in Sadar Bazar Sadbhawana Park.
Roads
The Board maintains 12.137 Kms. long metaled roads. Keeping in view the increase in traffic over the roads the widening and metaling of roads is proposed.
Drains
Presently the Cantonment Board Varanasi has 2 kms. long drain. Out of which 800 R.M. is small and 1.02 km is main Nallah.
